It's been a while!

I can't believe how busy life gets when you work full time! It's been 18 months since I entered a post here! I was surprised I even remembered my password!! When I can get all of my stuff down from on top of tables (due to flood threats recently) I will start making things again and be able to start posting again. But right now marking calls! Later.

Light the Night

It's on again - Light the Night in Brisbane

Come together with friends, families and work colleagues to light a lantern and join us on a sunset walk to support blood cancer patients.

Wednesday 5 October 2011 from 5.00pm

Each coloured lantern contains a tiny light and has a special meaning:

White for blood cancer patients and survivors

Blue for supporters

Gold for those remembering a loved one lost

You must register by 5pm 4 October 2011 to receive your free lantern at the Pre-Registered Walkers tent, including all team members.

If you don't register before 5pm 4 October you can pay $5 on the night to receive your lantern. If you don’t wish to buy a lantern, you are welcome to walk without one.

Health update

Had my 2nd Immuno Globulin infusion yesterday. No reaction!! They gave me the other product this time and Leanne (Day Oncology Nurse also known as LC) gave me the drip slower to start with and gradually built up to the speed it was supposed to be administered. Was out of there at 1.20pm with no extra paper work for them to complete. Celebrations all round!!

Also found out my platelet count is up to 92!!  Celebrating this too! 7 weeks ago it was 75! Apparently the infusions help this too! Haven't been sick, had sinus too badly or any other problems since getting rid of the shingles and having the first infusion. Not celebrating too much too soon, as I need to wait and see, but small happy dance being done here!
